Hey yall, I've got a 1976 F250 with a 360 V8. It's got the DuraSpark II distributor. My question is a simple one, I just don't know how to find the information. I'd like to get the motorcraft part numbers for the larger cap, rotor, and adapter please. Thank all of yall so much for your help.
If I am not mistaken '76 should be DSII w/the adapter, large cap, and male connections.
'74-'75 was DSI w/the small cap, and female connections.
Of course I could be wrong it wouldn't be the first time lol.
Either way you should be able to switch over to the adapter/larger cap, bigger rotor set-up without any issues (you will need new plug wires for the male connections).
Male end V8 dizzy cap (D7AZ-12106-A) and adapter (D7VY-12A217-A) introduced in 1977. These part numbers have since been updated.
1975/76 V8 dizzy cap (it's blue) is D5AZ-12106-A (Motorcraft DH-354) // Rotor is D5AZ-12200-A (Motorcraft DR-5-A).
Thank you for the clarification, I thought it was '76
I know I have seen '76's w/the adapters and male dizzy caps, perhaps the were retro-fitted, or is it possible some late year '76's were early recipients of the upgrade?
[QUOTE=NumberDummy;18076413]D6PZ-12259-AD .. Spark Plug Wire Set (Motorcraft WR-3882-A) / Obsolete
Thanks again ND, one last question and I'm out of your hair. I obviously like Motorcraft NOS parts, but as you said those plug wires are obsolete. Does Motorcraft make a cap that fits like the DH-354 with no adapter but has male ends so I can use just a regular set of plug wires?

Good Sir, what are the part numbers for the rotor, spark plugs, and spark plug wires that fits with the parts introduced in 1977? I believe the PO swapped over to them to avoid the female plug wires. Once again, I apologise for my ignorance. How do you find all these part numbers? I'd love to quit bothering you every time I have a question.
