I believe its a warning indicator for low or contaminated DEF.

Change it when you change the blinker fluid.

You don’t change it, you add it. Notice that the def gauge is showing 1/8 full. The tank holds 7.5 gallons and the truck gets
500-1000 miles per def gallon, depending upon load, etc. it’s part of the emissions control.
Youre dealer should have included this in the "orientation."

You don’t Change the DEF, you add more to the DEF tank. Next to the diesel filler cap is a smaller blue cap. That is where the DEF is added.

As with most things. When it's time. And since the light is on, its time.
Most refill the tank when they change the oil. As was said above, about 1000 miles per gallon on the DEF, so 7.5 gallons is 7500 miles.

I usually grease the muffler bearings at the same time I add blinker fluid.

A more ideal situation would be to not let it get below a quarter of a tank, to prevent it from sucking in debris that may be in the tank or taking the truck into “limp” mode.
DEF is used constantly by the pickup, it is an expendable item. Need to refill it, just watch the gauge

Is this for real? Buffoons like this, buying these trucks to look cool and say “ I’ve got a diesel” are part of the reason they’re so expensive.

Nice. I’m sure you were born knowing everything.
