Lost Some Bass

Hey guys,
Due to work travels and family growth, I decided to replace the head unit on the truck so that the kids can watch a DVD in the dash and I can use Android Auto for navigation while traveling. As such, I purchased a Pioneer AVH2330NEX receiver. I installed the receiver and the music seemed to clean up nicely and the quality of sound seemed better. I thought "hey this is nice, lets try some aftermarket speakers too" so I did some research and purchased (4) 6x8 Pioneer TS-A6886R speakers to replace the 4 factory ones (2 front and 2 rear on a SuperCab). The highs are much cleaner and clearer, the mid range is stronger, the music all the way around is cleaner sounding, but the bass is GONE. I've played with the equalizer endlessly and can get it to sound OK, but nothing better than the stock speakers. My question though really is, why is my bass gone? I thought an aftermarket receiver and aftermarket speakers should have helped my bass at least a little, but dang, it seems nearly gone. Everything else sounds 10 times better, but the bass sucks. What did I do wrong, or is this typical?

Did you use a wiring interface such as the PAC interface to connect your stereo ? If so, did you get in to the settings of your stereo and turn the subwoofer setting to the on position and adjust your EQ settings accordingly ?

did you connect the speaker wires correctly speakers have a polarity + and - if not one speaker will push out as one pulls in and it cancels the bass out.
also in the settings if you are not using a subwoofer it must be set to off so the bass goes to the regular speakers.

Thanks for the info guys, I appreciate it. I did use a wiring interface that allowed everything to clip up correctly. I havent seen a subwoofer setting so Ill go back through it to make sure. The wires have size specific connections to keep idiots like me from reversing them but I'l double check that as well. Thanks again for the info guys, Ill check on it as soon as possible.
