Hi Guys,
Need to know what this is from, so I can redo the seat upholstery. I've been told it appears to be from the 87 through 91 era. Forgive me for not knowing as the Ford seat is in my newly purchased non Ford rat rod pickup truck. My concern is not for the pattern or color but more for the method of installation. As the picture shows there are no hog rings, rather the material attaches by means of plastic pull over sleeves that clips over the frame. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John
jmcap,
Although I don't know for certain, but I believe it's older than an 87 because there isn't headrest. Is there a Part Number (P/N) on the frame's bottom section? That is where I've seen them on Ford seats? With a P/N, Bill (Number Dummy) will probably be able to narrow down year.
I swapped my old bench for a 1994-ish bench cloth seat with lumbar and middle arm rest into my 91 cab. If you have the skills I think there are restoration kits out there for DIY, however I recommend cloth over vinyl (gets real hot when you leave it in the sun). Any 1987-1996 bench should fit, would be cheaper (maybe better) to find a good condition mid 90's bench and just straight up swap it.
Hey Guys, ( Diesel B, Da L C, and EQ )
Thanks for the feedback. Regrets on not showing the bottom of the seat. Pretty simple but has the 'eyelet" at the rear for seat belts. I know hog rings are the norm, but for sure that would be a chore. There are no holes on the frame to crimp a ring . I would have to pre-drill holes for fastening purposes. AS well I will check for a part # on the seat frame. Wondering if seat dimensions varied much from era to era? I've done too many seats in my life to have this one get over on me.

It appears your seat cover is new. Don't see that original pattern offered by any of the aftermarket suppliers. Can I ask where you got the proper pattern? As well does it install like the original without the use of hog rings?
THanks,
John

I found that pic on the 'net. Looks like that green color is called pine or spruce and was only 80-82. NPD shows the pattern but not a full shot, may have to give them a ring:
SMS Auto Fabrics has/can make just about any factory material. Located in Oregon, I think they just took over another company in MI also. Don't remember the name but both now ring SMS. Just FYI.
