351M Dismantled and discarded
I am in the process of dismantling my old dogged out 351M. During my hunt for its replacement, a Ford 400, I came to realize that the 335 engine is not all that plentiful in junk yards as one might suspect. I'm keeping the heads and block for possible future use. My question is, are there any other parts that I absolutely should NOT get rid of simply because they are obsolete and no longer available?

If you have room to store the heads and block why not just store the whole engine?
Thing I would say to keep are the timing chain cover, oil pan, flex plate/flywheel, rods, engine accessory brackets, distributor, all engine accessories (ps pump, alternator, water pump) to be used as cores for when you buy new ones, motor mounts, valve covers.
Yup just keep the the whole motor intact till you find your 400 crank, that way you don't have to find a complete 400.
