Help with 1965 Grumman Ford

I recently purchased what I am told is a 1965 Ford Grumman Olson... however I can’t find any markings or labels on the actual truck to verify. I do have the title with the VIN: P40L680712 can someone please decode the VIN? I would like to do a complete restoration. Where can I buy parts? Also has a inline 6 with a 3 speed and would like to swap over to an automatic transmission for convenience of driving. Also would like to add power steering if possible. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

VIN contains 11 digits, you only typed 10. It appears you omitted the 4th digit, a letter designating the size of the engine.

P40 = P400 Parcel Delivery.

?

L = Michigan Truck Assembly Plant.

680712 = 1965.

Cannot help you with engine parts until its type and size are known. This is a P series Parcel Delivery "rolling chassis," there are no body parts available, as it was not installed by FoMoCo.

Every FoMoCo VIN from 1957 thru 1980 has 11 digits, your VIN is missing a digit.

I would assume it's the 4th digit, because the first 3 digits (P40) is the series code, the 5th digit is the assembly plant code.

The last 6 digits of the VIN is the Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number, decode to the year.

1961/64 223 I-6: The intake & exhaust manifolds are located on the left (drivers) side of the engine.

1965 and later 240 & 300 I-6: The intake & exhaust manifolds are located on the right (passenger) side of the engine.
