Good morning guys! Welcome to July. We've been extremely lucky with the weather up to this point. Even the last two days weren't nearly as bad as predicted. We'll see what today brings. Stay cool!
In truck news, I ordered up a tonneau cover, Ford boxlink brackets, and an Eibach leveling kit with new struts, rear shocks and a taller block. And ordered myself a new phone. It was a very expensive weekend. I'll need to keep my eyes on Craigslist to try to find a good deal on tires like towinrig did!
It was a hot one out there yesterday. Not F150 related, but I was driving the Jeep home Saturday night after wheeling last weekend and again Saturday and noticed a metal on metal sound coming from the rear end. Got it home nice and slow and then yesterday I lifted the rear end to just rotate tires to see if I can pinpoint where the sound is coming from, hoping I had not broke teeth in the diff. Put my hands on the driver rear tire and could move the top of it in and out about 1/2" and the drum brake rotor was moving with it. Too hot to take it apart yesterday, but I'm thinking axle shaft or I've screwed up the wheel lugs.
wow...this weekend was a blessing! Perfect weather! This week heats getting turned back up though....low humidity supposedly. Ive gotta fix the "fading brake pedal" saga in my 01. Ive got to replace the ABS pump.....searching around for a good used one
Set up an appointment for the truck for when I get back from vacation next week. The driver's side rear door sensor says it is never closed. I searched quite a bit and found broken wires as a cause in the B pillar, but mine is something in the latch or alignment. It doesn't feel the same as the other rear door when closing and I can see that it is not resting in the same spot as the other one. The rear edge of it is slightly out compared to the body and on the passenger side it is slightly in. All the seals are correctly in place.
I had that issue in the '10 that I had. It was broken wires in that B pillar. Pretty painless fix. If I remember correctly I got $500 off the truck for that and it took me no more than an hour start to finish.
I may take a look at the wires before bringing it in, but from seeing and feeling the differences in how the two rear doors shut there's something going on there rather than wires.
I think I need to update as well. Been on the mobile for so long I can't see what it is.
I recieved the rear shocks yesterday from stage3 for my Eibach pro truck lift, so my daughter and I went ahead and put them in. I could not have done the job without her. She put the bolt in for me while I held the shock compressed. Still waiting on the rest of the kit. I have autosprings rear 3" blocks to go in, but not knowing how soon the fronts will be here, I didn't put them in yet.
