That is one heck of a front bumper. Why replace the axle?

Why change the axle,

[QUOTE=petemcl;18063893]That is one heck of a front bumper. Why replace the axle? Upgrade tires wheel and brakes to more modern day better ride. Get your rid of the old split rims.

You will not find a hydraulic brake spider for class 8 front axle spindles, they all have air brakes, or no brakes at all. Best you can hope for is to find a low spec class 7 (ie: F-700/750/800) truck/axle with ten stud wheels and hydraulic brakes. Kinda rare imho because most will have air brakes.

I’m thinking more like F450 F550 or maybe the Dodge 4500 and 5500s both of those have 10 lug axles. With disc brakes and 19.5 wheels

Ok, no problem. Medium duty stuff. Little engineering involved. Seen it done many times.
