2 recliners, a hide-a-bed-couch that seats 2, and a wrap around dinette table couch that seats 4-6. Not a monster compared to the fifth wheels out there, but decent enough for a small group. The slide-out helps a TON with the space.
I would like to buy my mom's camper, but I have not place to store it that won't cost a fortune in the Manhattan Area. Now that Dad has passed, she doesn't use it, and she doesn't want to drag it out herself. We are going to use it for Labor Day weekend, but I think Mom will sell it after that.
We pay $65 a month for covered storage at Marion, just a 1 minute drive from the campground gate. Maybe you could store it at a local lake of your choosing and avoid paying higher storage fees in Manhattan? Plus you don't tear up your vehicle towing, or burn up excessive fuel in the process. The cruddy part is toting stuff back and forth, but we're getting pretty good at it after doing it 20+ times over the past couple years
If she does sell, hopefully it will at least be a great and memorable weekend for you. Some of the best memories our family has made so far have definitely been made at the lake!
It's not a fifth wheel camper, its a bumper pull, Its just a big, one.
I would love to have it, but I can't justify paying much to store it and only getting to use it a few days per year. We got lots of summer activities, and we don't have enough summer to fit in new activities. : (
I understand that completely, if we didn't use ours every-other weekend like we do now then it would have very likely received a for sale sign by now. My big dream is to haul it around the country on family vacations, but that would probably require a 3/4 ton truck to pull. Which means a certain yellow TJ would have to be sold to make that happen
I hae towed with several 1/2 tons- and different 3/4 tons -- I think there is a huge difference in towing- or should I say stopping- the brakes are much bigger in the newer trucks and they stop with a trailer about as good as without. Justin you can get a denali truck and still keep the jeep put a topper on it and your wife might not notice :-) :-)
We really want Sierra Denali, but for some reason they're only rated at 9k lbs. towing vs. a Sierra SLT at 12k with the maximum towing package. I'm assuming it's the fancy shock system that's bringing the rating down? I think it has 50+ more horsepower and torque with the 6.2L vs. the 5.3L, so I don't think the motor is the limiting factor. I think Jamie is open to looking at a Sierra when we replace the Yukon, so that may just be an option. I don't think the topper is a great idea, not sure if we want more kids
