I have a 2001 Excursion that unfortunately came with the small power/heated paddle mirrors. The doors have the 10 pin grey rectangular plugs with 5 wires. I just received a pair of the round body towing mirrors (not the squared '08s) from a guy that has no idea what truck they came off of and unfortunately the guy had cut the male plug off the mirror wiring. I assume it was used for an '08 swap. Anyway, now I have these mirrors and don't have a clue of the wiring color/location. The wiring coming from the mirror is as follows: red, black, blue, brown, light green, black w/white stripe and 2 yellow wires. Looks like the brown is the turn signal wire, the light green is the park light, and the black w/stripe is the ground for the aforementioned lighting. (I know I am going to have to provide the turn signal/park light wiring from the truck side) I would like to see if someone can tell me where the other wires go to power the adjustment and heat functions. The original wiring from the paddles mirrors is as follows: (Position) 1.Red 2.Dark Brown 3.Blue 5.Black w/ Yellow Stripe 6.Black w/ Light Blue Stripe. The rest of the positions in the plug being empty of course. Not being able to start at least with a properly wired plug on the mirror side is of course kind of derailing the process. Most write ups and diagrams are 1. about 08 swaps and 2. don't show the color coded diagram of the mirror side. I tried to check it out on the BBB Industries in the tech folder but whenever I try to view the files it reads that there is an error. HELP! THANKS!
I've tried several combinations through trial and error and can not get the controls to work right. I thought rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, I'd see if someone here had a simple (since I too am simple) color-to-color key that I could read through the sweat gathering in my eyes (it's 103 here and unfortunately definitely NOT that "dry heat" the AZ folks talk about). I am not a "wiring guy", mechanical things no problem, wiring is just kind of a handicap for me and I don't want to screw anything up!
