My 2015 F-150 was broken into right in front of my house so thief knows where I live & park my truck. They stole the factory keyless entry code card so now they can rebreak in any time they want. Dealership says factory code can never be deactivated/turned off. Ford has no way to prevent thieves from rebreaking in once they steal the factory code card. Dealership wants $1,000 to replace the keyless entry module. How difficult is this to do myself?

As another poster said, you can change the code anytime you want.
The instructions are in your manual.
Okay... the pre-set code cannot be wiped out to prevent it from getting stolen again.. did you even understand that part?
He needs to replace the whole thing since it's not possible for Ford to change the pre-set keys.
That is why he is asking if he can just replace it himself, not drivel from somebody who didn't read the whole thing.
I wish there was an ignore feature in this forum! It would be very useful.
I was fine not saying anything to you for quite some time now but you`re the one who posted your second comment towards me without quoting me in your reply but you did so with your bold print.
If you want to ignore someone, an ignore feature is not required....all you have to do is do it. However, you can`t make obvious comments to or about someone and expect them to just let it slide. If you can`t take, don`t dish it.
Let`s just start over again today with never saying anything to each other again just like a few weeks ago.
No, actually, he already said he's replacing it himself but others were chiming in worthless input like changing keycodes and stuff.
Auto insurance.. good idea, but I had a friend whose keys were stolen and insurance refused to pay to get her car re-keyed. Never got stolen anyways, but it was a Ford ZX2. I'd pay to have it stolen.
I can't live without mine! When I'm gone for a couple weeks or so, I hide my keys in there so that when I come back home, my keys are right there! If I'm overseas, it would suck if I lost all of my keys out there.
When I first got my F-150, I never used the factory code because my grandfather had a 1982 Lincoln Continental and three out of five keys looked new, one was heavily faded and one was lightly faded. It was pretty easy to get in the Lincoln! The custom code ensures that all five buttons will be pushed and evenly worn out.
He's probably in a similar predicament but one suggested calling car insurance which is a great idea.
Thank you vuys very much for your input. Yes, sadly the factory code will always and forever let the thief back into my truck even after I change the code to one I want. Instead of swapping our the module I went with just disconnecting the code entry panel from power to disable the code entry for now. Thanks again for your help!
