quick towing question

hey guys im fixing to go pick up a car in my old 95 f150 ext cab SB 5.0L 3.73gears 33x10.50 tires. the cars weighs around 3100-3700lbs and i don't know what the trailer weighs, going to rent one. probably a 2 axle trailer i think they weigh 1500-2000lbs? my sticker on my truck says the gvwr is 6250lbs thats when it had the old 3.08 gears in it. but with 3.73 i should be good to go right?

Other than the 33" tires, 31" would be better, you should be good.
I hope the trailer has brakes and more so if you have never towed before.
Just take your time

The rig will be fine. Take your time. Make sure the car is secured well on the trailer. Set the car to give enough tongue weight to make the truck sag a bit. If it only sags a little and then wiggles continuously, stop and move the car forward a little to give more tongue weight. If you are pulling after dark, watch those headlights pointed in the sky.

Only the hitch weight will count against your GVWR. GCVWR is for the combo.

Just FYI...

A Uhaul Car trailer weighs between 2000-2500lbs depending on exactly which model you get. And they have their own braking system that works pretty well. Also made to have plenty of tongue weight no matter what the load.

When you get one that's working. I've rented two, one was great, the other had 0 brakes.
