you shouldn't have to do anything other than install it, but i'd check the various manufactures specifications, I like the belt drives better but there very expensive. DW

You want have to do any block work but you may have to remove some material from the idler shafts to acheive the correct clearance between the block and timing cover. Your gear drive kit should explain this; most manufacturers do.
