Tach input

Hi all, my question is where does the tachometer get input from?

Tach input

The input comes from the ignition coil. Give us the year of your Bronco and we can give your the color of the wire.

in the 80's it was a green/yellow wire.

Tach input

oh I saw that we are in the Diesel chapter, sorry....

The input for a Diesel tach comes from a sensor which is mounted in front of the injection pump. The sensor counts the rotation from the drive gear....

Ok, I will look into that. Maybe my sensor is bad. My tach works either a little, or just stays on zero.

Oh, my truck is a 1985 w/6.9. Sorry for the confusion. I had the bronco first.

the Part number is: E5TF 17B 384 AA and it cost approx. $ 78
