I wonder why they stopped making it!...? It can't be because of low gas mileage, every other thing I see on the road does no better in fuel economy than my truck!...Or is it people are forgetting what torque is, they think a V6 is the way to go because it "SEEMS" more powerful...
Women, that's why Ford killed the 300. . . .
When Ford redesigned the F series in 96/97 they went for a more curved/sloping hood to appeal more to female purchasers. The 300 was too long to fit under the new sloping hood, so they go rid of it. As for emissions, i don't rememeber what exactly causes it, but the inline 6 is an inherently "clean" setup. they are very easy to make emissions friendly.
No cats, heh? Thats nice to know, and I've heard that from some others...it will soon be exhaust time for me, and my bone stock exhaust needs to be opened up a hair...nothing too loud, don't need the attention! Luckily i'm good friends with a repair shop down the road that does inspection...he won't really care if I have no cats, but you would NEVER pass like that here in a New Jersey inspection facility!!!
