First thing is I think the blower motor resistor is bad, only blows on high, or one below high. No other control for blower motor works. Where is the resistor block exactly locations at ?
Other problem with A/C is when changing temperature from 60 to 65 degrees it blows hot air ( like turning on heater, but still having ac on) ,doesn't matter if recycling button is on or off. I hope that the automatic control panel or module is not needing replaced. Can anyone help give me repair tips on these problems? Thank You in advance for your time reading this post.
When you call for a higher temperature the system blends air from the heater to answer the demand. The climate control systems will use hot and cold air together frequently to effect rapid changes according to your input.
Is it possible the blower is actually running at the slower speeds although you can't hear it or feel air flow? Do you have a cabin air filter and have you checked it lately? I've seen where a vehicle came from the factory with loose insulation in the blower cage, for example.
If the blower is always on maximum speed on an automatic climate control system, then the usual problem is a failed blower speed control module which is correctly differentiated but often mistakenly called a resistor. Auto parts stores are among the biggest offenders.
I second the above post. I had the same problem in my wife's 07 Freestyle. Other than having to be a contortionist to get to it, it's an easy fix. Hopefully a lot easier in your truck It was under the dash/console in the one I did. Good luck!
