Rear climate control switch?

05 EB I have the front control that gives the usual "off, rear, low, med and high" positions but if I put it on "rear" there is no rear switch in the truck! I've seen other Ex's with the rear climate control panel next to the DVD system but mine has nothing but the DVD.

does this thing just not have actual rear controls for rear seat passengers?

??, Do you have a pic of the ceiling?, And surely you must have the overhead controls just above the rear view mirror?

yeah i have the rear controls above the mirror but there is not rear control for back seat passengers. I don't have a pic of the roof at the moment but it's just the DVD unit. Nothing up there for climate.

You sure it's a factory DVD system? Someone installed an aftermarket DVD in mine and the DVD, when down, blocks the rear controls at the aft edge of the upper console.

I think this is a good example of what the factory one looks like:

...and here's one without factory DVD (what mine looks like):

Sounds like mine. Someone removed the rear controls and added an aftermarket DVD with flip down screen setup. It did not work and when I took it down I found the wiring and plugs for the rear controls in the ceiling. Bought a used control off eBay, plugged it in and it works. Looks like GregA's lower photo.

Kai, I believe I have a spare set of rear controls in the garage. You can have them if I can find them.

That's not a DVD player I've ever seen in a Ford before. And that "Ford Motor Company" logoscript hasn't been used on products for a long time, if ever (it was finally removed from the Dearborn HQ in 2002.)

I think someone removed your rear A/C controls, installed an aftermarket DVD player up there, and slapped an ancient logoscript on it to make the owner think it was factory. Drop the DVD player down and I'll bet you a dollar-to-a-donut you'll find the wiring and plugs for the rear A/C controls.

I'm holding the aftermarket wiring for the add-on entertainment system. Above my hand, you can see the factory A/C control wires.

Hmmm, you could be on to something. I figured an EB would have the OE DVD player standard.

I'll have to pull this thing down and look around in there.

Kai, can you repost the pic or upload it to the thread? For some reason it's not showing for me.
