Box compatibility?

As John said, the box will bolt up fine. It's essentially the same box that was used from late 1950 on. The problem you'll run into is the studs for the fenders that are welded to the box sides won't be the correct pattern to fit your '50 fenders. The later fenders look really goofy on the earlier trucks, and they won't fit at the running boards. You'll also likely make a really big mess of things if you try to remove the studs and replace them in the early pattern. They don't come out easy and you'll do big time harm to the sheet metal by the time you do. Best to wait and find an early bed, or buy a repro. That's my input.
