If you're leaving all the front serpentine drive accessories as they are, your'e fine, but if you go back to an old style V belt setup, you'll need to change out the reverse rotation water pump used with serpentine drive for a conventional style water pump, and while you're at it, if you are planning on running a mechanical fuel pump, the timing cover will need to be changed to one that allows for a mech pump, and this will also require you to add the eccentric that drives the mech pump. (It bolts to the cam). If you stay with serpentine drive and elect to use an electric fuel pump, you don't have to mess with any of the front stuff

The EFI distributor will not work on a carb'd engine, as the ECM controlled timing, advance, etc...
I'm not sure if the 302 in trucks was hydraulic roller cam or not? The Hyd roller cams require a specific type of drive gear, so If yes, you can use a 1985 Mustang. 5.0L Carb'd distributor. If not hyd roller, any pre EFI distributor will work.
Any 302/5.0 from 1981 and newer will use a 50oz imbalance flexplate or flywheel, so keep that in mind when you're getting to the point of adding a trans....

**Forgot to mention, since you truck was never available with SBF in it, you will need to fab engine mounts, here is a link to one setup, that is available from Speedway, Transdapt, and a host of others....and there are also several other styles of mounts. They're out there, all you have to do is choose...
