55 F100 New to FTE

Hey everyone. Just checking in as a FTE newbie. My ride is a 55 F100. It's a daily driver as needed. Current engine is the 223. Two weeks ago, I picked up a '58-'59 rebuilt 292 long bock . I'm working through the parts list and am sure to have many questions about the transplant. I look forward to connecting and learning from you all. JA

Here are some pics of the 55. It's a driver that's been in local parades and also made several trips to the dump! Once I get the 292 built, I plan to swap it for the 223. Right now I'm trying to figure out the engine mounts. From all I've read, it seems that the Y blocks are even swaps with the 223. Do you have any insight to this one? Thanks
JA

Nice 55! I have a long way to go!
Just got an original window replacement today.

I wanted to keep the tow bar. It just looks at home there doesn’t it?

I do have the tailgate and it’s usable but needS a lot of TLC!

Looks like a great project! Solid truck with lots of patina. Tow bar is a definite keeper! 223, 256 or 272?

I bought it from the second owner and he said that the original owner had just put in a 1970 Ford car 390! That’ll be my first project, getting the 390 to run. Been sitting 15-16 years.

I’m ready to get it running. Been sitting forever. My dad always used marvel mystery oil. I’m going to pull the plugs out and squirt a little in each cylinder to keep the rings from breaking. Is this a good idea?
