I decided not to replace my front bumper so now I have a rather expensive Adaptive Cruise Control Relocation Bracket form Addictive Desert Design. Purchase Price $259.00. Admittedly this is a rediculously costly bracket but it's purpose built and relocates the Adaptive Cruise Control Module located to the right of the front license plate to a location behind the front top right of the grill. I'll sell it for $195 or best offer with free domestic shipping. Let me know.
I'm curious if anyone has used this and can report on performance. I'd like to add a bull bar to my truck but I use the ACC alot while towing my RV and don't want to beta test anything that hasn't been proven over 1000s of miles.
I had a Fab Four bumper installed on my KR, and that relo bracket that moves the censor behind the grille will not work with a grill guard & bull bar bumper. It also will not work with the chrome grille. I had many lengthy conversations with FF about it, and what we landed on was that the "line of sight" is blocked by the bars/chrome grille. I was assured that the censor does work with the black grille.
Ultimately the shop doing the bumper ended up fabbing a bracket that mimicked the RanchHand bracket, and the censor is in the lower part of my replacement. After some directional aligning, it worked like it did from Ford and had no problems since reinstall. Just my experience/$0.02.
I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with ADD's support team to make sure it will work with my grills. I had both the original Platinum grill but switched to a Lariat OEM grill. It works fine with the OEM Lariat and Platinum Grills according to the manufacturer. In fact, they use a Lariat in the instruction manual. If there's any doubt, I'd recommend contacting ADD directly.
