The picture quality of the camera system is awful and almost useless in many situations and it seems to have gotten worse. My wifes volvo is super clear and you can actually tell where the car is placed near othe objects. Do others find this to be true? Are there any solutions?
You need to buy a Volvo 3/4 ton!
Seriously, a wipe of the cameras lens with a soft cloth may clean up the picture. I could read a book using the back up camera not only on my F-250 but my other Ford Products. Most of my driving career was before back up cameras so Maybe I am not too picky....
I've read where some people have had poor camera quality which was caused by a bad connection. All my cameras were nice and clear but recently my front camera isn't worth a chit. I'm taking my truck in tomorrow for an oil change and service and I'm going to have them fix it.
I end up switching camera views a lot because I can't see what I need to see with the various cameras the truck has. Backing into my garage ( day light to shadows) I have to switch from the divided view that shows back up and Eagle view to the single rear view. The image gets larger and much easier to determine what I might be backing into. Or for that matter, just following the concrete joint in my floor so I know I'm backing in straight. ( garage door is only 9' wide, So I have to retract the mirrors)
Same thing with hooking up equipment trailer. I often switch from the divided view to the single view and eventually to the zoom view as I get in position to hook up.
The CHMSL camera is a waste for me. My BakFlip tonneau cover blocks the view of the camera of my GN ball. ( my fault for buying a folding tonneau) That lense is often dusty/dirty enough that it is not clear at any distance. And it's hard to reach to clean with out climbing in the bed.
Just stuff I've had to learn to live with. Still better to have cameras than not and guess at every space

I carry a telescopic articulated dusting device for the dash windshield and the CHMSL camera. Works great. I bought the OEM rolling tonneau cover just for that situation. Works great.

the sunlight is directly into the camera. Plus I don’t think I had cleaned the screen, camera or the phone. I think the quality is pretty good. No worse then my Lukas 1080P dash cam.
Here are some pictures of my brake light camera. The quality is somewhat better than the camera shows but not by much. I find that even when zoomed in it is very hard to see clearly when hooking the trailer up. The truck has the 360 camera system. How does this compare to what others are seeing? The camera on my 2014 Escape is much clearer.

Yours looks like you've got wax on your camera lens.
