I have a 2012 F-350 XL for work and wanted to install a better stereo than the basic am/fm radio it came with, so I just bought a 6 disc changer/ MP3 player, am/fm stereo out of a 2012 Larriat and went to install it, well when I did I noticed that the new stereo had three plug in's in the back unlike my standard am/fm radio that only had one, so I plugged the one in and the antenna but all that works is I can put a cd in and out of it and the clock illuminates if I push the power button. So what am I missing here? Is there a harness or something I need to make it work? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

No resposes at all? Hmm, with all the knowledge here I am shocked that not one person was able to help out, well hopefully someone will chime in soon, thanks.
Well, I am not familiar with that particular system but most likely the 2012 Lariat may have had the Sony or Bose system. If that's the case the radio may require those amps before it can play. Also, it may be that you need to have the dealer program the vehicle vin into the new radio as there have been changes that make stolen stereo equipment unusable. Too many variables for anyone to say for sure. I took a good 6 disc changer from my '04 F350 and put it in my '06 F53 motorhome. The plugs were the same and it was a direct swap out. The '04 does not work in the '06. I believe I would have to get it programmed for the vin. It's not worth the effort to do it. I'm not saying that your situation is that case but I wouldn't be surprised. JMO
As for the radio in question I can’t say, however if it were me I would get an after market radio like a kenwood and the associated wire harness for your truck and install that, I went with a media player in my mustang (no CD player) as all my music is on a 64GB memory card, but that is just my setup
Thanks for the info guys, I will look into the reprogramming thing, and if that doesn't work then probably have to go with the aftermarket stereo, it's a company truck so I didn't want to spend a whole lot on it, I thought the OEM radio would be the cheapest option.
