11 Raptor Random Shifting
I was driving about 60 mph when my Raptor decided it wanted to shift to 1st gear. I caught it pretty fast and tossed it into neutral and costed to the side of the highway. I ran a diagnostic on it and came up with code P1780 Transmission Control Switch Circuit is Out of Self-Test Range. I figured this was the "tow/Haul" switch but it seems to be functioning just fine. So i did some research and there was a recall for my truck for reprogramming the traffic control module and in the recall it specifically said that vehicle may randomly shift into 1st gear. So i took it to Ford, they have had it for little over a week and said they have completed all the warranty work, and now they are wanting to drop my transmission and do a tear down on it. any thoughts? anyone experience this issue?
