BEWARE - Heckethorn Leveling Kit
Recently bought and installed the Heckethorn 2" leveling Kit from Rough Country. TOTALLY not even close to working. The goal was to level the front end with the rear, well it added 4 friggin inches!!! I said, OK- I can live with this although I had to get new shocks which the instructions didn't call for. Only thing that came with the kit was coils and instructions. The only hurdle the instructions stated was that the bump stop would need to be grinded off. Once they installed and saw now that my front was higher than the rear, I thought I would just level the rear now to compensate, NO WAY - the truck was not even in the gauges to being close to alignment, severe toe in. So, I took them off, sent them back for a refund (I will give them credit for that) and installed Fabtech 3.5 spindle kit, I thought about the performance kit, but with the new control arms, you need to run different wheels, the spindles allow for YOUR wheels and a tire size upgrade to 285/75/16, so with the tires and kit, you get about 6" of lift from original stock. I also installed a SuperSpring load stablizer in the rear.
