Tires on a stock 1996 f250

I've got a stock 1996 f250 xcab(ttb up front if that matters any) and am just wondering if I could fit a 285 70r17(manufacturer says 32.6” diameter) on it. Rims are offset -6. I’ve heard some people say that the bumper will need to be shimmed/trimmed, and some say that it may just rub on the leaves when locked up in one way or the other.

Keeping an eye on this. I have a 2wd stock 1997 which is in need of tires. I'm considering putting the 285/75R16s (almost the same dimensions as 285/70R17's) from my super duty on the truck, but not sure how they will clear.

Also, not sure for the KO's will look on a 2WD Truck

From the looks of the article skyfox10 linked, they'll fit. I figured they would, but just wanted to be sure. Can anyone tell me if the rim offset will change that at all though?

Yes and No.

Every F250 with the TTB I have ever put 285/75/16s on needed either the bumper spaced or trimmed as to not touch the tire.
But with that said their are A LOT of people who say theirs cleared fine.

BTW mine never touched the leaf springs

My truck had 265/75R16 tires on it when I bought it. They would rub the sway bar when turned all the way. Never had a problem with the bumper, but your tires will be about one inch taller than mine were.
