I haven't had the "privilege" of working on the front end of my truck other than brakes, and just recently, ball joints and upper control arms. All of which was easy enough. And now a situation has come up that I'm not sure how to handle. I think that while changing the control arm on the driver's side, the wheel seal got damaged and is now leaking grease. I have tried to price a new seal only to be told that I would not be able to buy just a seal, and would have to buy a new hub assembly. Cost....$120. at O'Reilly's, and $54 from Amazon with free shipping. Didn't see seals though. Are seals available for a 2000 F-150 4x4? I would hate to spend $50-$120 for a complete hub if I can just buy a $10± seal.
are you sure its leaking grease from the wheel seal? These are sealed hub assembllys and while its possble, its not likely leaking grease from there. Sure its not a minor hole in the outer cv joint boot. The rotational mass of that joint will throw grease all over
