Truck has bad wiring. Lots of loose ends from p.o. removing and replacing parts. Half the wires are covered in tape, rusted, and melted. Is there a rewiring kit available for these old beasts, or is the process much more complicated lol
I went with an America Auto Wire harness. Was super simple to install, for wiring, that is. However, it came with all the wires in the harness for numerous upgrades such as led lights, digital speedometer, and others. Also was really geared to the one wire alternators. If your not looking to do these upgrades, I would stay away from this. If you are considering upgrades then its well worth the investment. All though I didn't use any upgrades except for the one wire alternator, I now have an up to date, modern fuse box. That I do like.
So in other words, kits DO exist and I have options. Excellent lol It wont be a project that Ill be tackling anytime soon, but still nice to get that question off my mind ^_^
I used an EZ Wire harness, stripped all wiring out and installed a 21cct harness if I remember correctly and it was less that $200.00. They aren't ford based but work and I think they are easy to install, took me a solid 8 hour day and she was done except for a couple small pieces.
