Sorry if I'm posting more than one thread here today but they are differnt issues so I'm assuming that's ok. Anyways rear blocks are in and i went to attach the rear shocks and i only have 1 1/4" of travel left! Idou le checked my i voice and these are suppose to be 3-4" lift for srw f250/350 suoer duty 99 through 2004 from skyjacker. Well my 4" lift must be 6" or skyjacker doesnt know how to design and mark their equipment becase I cant drive my truck now! There is no way I can drive this with only 1 1/4" of droop left, one bump or anything in the road and I'm gonna over extend the shock and most likely bend one of my mounts or RIP the shock apart....
WHY IS THIS LIFT TORMENTING ME?
Send the skyjacker shocks back, and order you a set of bilstiens for the amount of lift you have. You will be glad you did. They are way better shocks. The Bilstien 5100s come in a bunch of different lengths and are made for certain amounts of lift. 2"-4", 4"-6", 8"+, etc.
See that's the problem...this has been a 5 year project. I bought the leaf springs first and stored them in the garage, then eight months later I bought extended russell brake lines and installed them. Three years ago I bought the bds drop pitman and track bar brackets and a zone adjustable track bar(I installed track bar). About two years ago I bought the 4" lift skyjacker shocks and I threw them on the truck...now that I bought the wheels and tires and installed the lift the damn shocks are too short so I'm stuck with them I MESSED UP I KNOW
Above truck is sitting at ride height, I barely have 1 1/2" of shock left, could I even drive it on the street till I get new ones ordered and shipped to me
I was looking at buying Fox 2.0 but their site is HORRIBLE shocks dont even come up for my truck or a f250 in a 4" length. Plus I cant find any specs on line about collapsed or extended lengths, even bilsteins I cant find that info
Got under my skin so I removed the front shock now that the 4" lift spring is installed now...I only have 2" on the front shock left in travel. I'm beyond aggravated now
Well, you did get two years use out of the shocks. All I can suggest is to buy the correct shock and move on. Your mistake was not bite the bullet and get all parts at the same time. Then you would have caught the problem and been able to exchange them. I don't see any other solution.
You sure the shock is extended all the way? Have you tried bolting it up and raising/ drooping the axle with a jack? Driving a 4"lift shock on a non lifted truck could've screwed them up and they're stuck at a lower ride height now. Did you tighten all the leaf spring hardware with the trucks weight on it or hanging? Those leafs could settle an inche, or more, over the next few months to a year. I'd call skyjacker with the shock and leaf part numbers and make sure they go together first.
WELL IVE HAD IT AND IM ABOUT TO RETURN THE SUSPENSION TO THE WAY IT WAS!!! I unbolted the axle shock mount and rotated it up above the fixed mount just so I could gain three inches so I could attach the shocks and drive the truck...well it drives HORRIBLE
I had a little steering wonder with the original box (163k) not bad but it was there, so I installed a cardone rebuilt box along with the lift, steering wheel goes a few degrees left then all of a sudden I have to turn it past center and go a few degrees to the right? I checked EVER NUT AND BOLT five times, everything is torqued to spec still, axle is centered alignment is perfect yet the wheel is never straight while driving! Hit the brakes and sometimes I need to turn left to stay straight or right to stay straight....my truck NEVER did this before the lift and 35" tires. Could the 35x12.50 mud terrains be causing all of this? All that contact patch following the crappy road?
ALSO I have a horrible shake from 40mph up to 70mph where I stopped becase I though something could happen. Tried it on the highway and back roads and it's all the same, starts at 40mph and gets worse up till 70mph
AGAIN the truck NEVER did this before the lift and tires

im looking thru your thread and I don’t see vehicle details.
if you have a 2wD , an alignment for caster/camber is going to be needed.
A 4wd doesn’t need the alignment.
i did a 2” in front and 3” in rear using daystar poly spacers in fron and OUO f-450 blocks in rear. Nothing negative manifested . I only did the lift becusse the shocks I bought weren’t centered correctly and needed a few inches .
overall, lifts tend to exaggerate play in linkages and bearings so these are things that you probally would of needed to address anyway. Hang in there and work out the issues.
