You gotta think this is the first year of the 5.0 in the trucks. Mine had 114,000 miles and well maintained. The problems I started having was the rearend bearings or another part of it for the second time. Lost of power pulling the trailer up a grade I never had problems before on. Let's see it also died on me three times while backing up then to top it off it started leaking oil while sitting so time to go. You always could get a F250 with a gas engine.

Damn sounds like it just all went to **** all at once eh?
If I went super duty I'd just get the 6.7, but I don't need a 3/4 ton truck, it'd be way over kill for my needs and would suck for the daily driver that my truck will be the majority of the time.
With that being said if the 6.2 didn't get such terrible gas mileage I may gone with it. Have a few friends that ha e them and are lucky to see 10 MPG's just regular driving, that's rediculous for a daily driver.
I would go with the 3.5EB. The 2nd gen with the 10-speed is a towing beast. I'm in Nor Cal as well and tow 6K lbs with a 2018 SCrew into the Sierra and up the coast. Altitude is no problem.
If I'm going to go back to diesel again I'd just get a 2019 f250 6.7 for about the same price. But I'm done with diesel.
It's looking like the f150 3.0 diesel is gonna be more of a mpg truck too, not real great tow rating or payload.

Thanks for the reply, that's pretty much exactly where I tow but also through Idaho, Tetons,, Wyoming, Flagstaff. .
Out of curiosity how many times a year do you tow?
