66 m100 240
I bought a 66 m100 last fall. It has a 240 6cyl. The motor is not stuck but someone removed the water pump and left it off. For how long I don't know. It is rusty inside where I can see. My question is if I flush the motor with water can I replace the water pump and leave the rust. I was told by buddy not to worry the rust won't hurt anything. Thankyou for the answers in advance.

never know what may have crawled in to make a home but i would probly run it and drain it a few times without thermostat pull lower rad hose to drain and ck freeze out plugs
