So for years I have searched for a y block auto trans, had to be the "right" one at the "right" price. Well.......I found one. I got the complete engine and trans, etc. I know it came out of a truck and I know its a y block. I also found out that brake clean removes the lettering on the aluminum id tag. From what I remember it said PBW-F 12399. A not so quick google search confirmed 1960 f series trans, then 58-62 auto trans, then cruiseomatic and not fordomatic, etc. I am fairly certain it will bolt to any 272/292 and I have a great transmission guy so rebuilding it is of no worry to me. Just curious if anyone can make fact out of PBW-F on an early fordomatic or cruiseomatic.
