2012 Ford F-150 Fire

Hello -

i am am not a regular poster here, although I have been a member here for some time. However, I now need your help.

Last Saturday, my 2012 Ford F-150 King Ranch 5.0L 4x4 was completely destroyed by a fire. Everything happened so quickly, I’m not sure what exactly happened. But, to make a long story short, I noticed that the air conditioner was not working. The next thing I see is a small amount of smoke coming from the vents in front of the windshield, below the windshield wipers. Then, there was a small fire in the area of the glove compartment. And before anyone could react, the entire truck was destroyed.

I had seen that small amount of smoke, but then I didn’t see anymore, so I assumed everything was okay, other than a somehow malfunctioning air conditioner. So I backed my truck into my storage building to see what the problem was.
In hindsight I should have left the truck outside, because there were many many other items in that building, including the building itself, that were also destroyed in the fire.

My question for you guys is are you aware of any other serious fire issues with my model F150 related to the air conditioner, electrical, etc.?

Also, are there any specific product litigation attorneys that you might recommend? I’m not looking for any Joe type attorney, but rather someone with experience dealing with similar issues on Ford trucks.

Thanks for your help.

John

Interesting. Maybe a roof leak that fried the wires in the passenger dash area?

I know on the 80's and 90's model F150's (and other makes too), if you have to park under trees that shed a lot of leaves, needles, blossoms or fluff, they can collect at the base of the windshield. Over time, they get sucked into the heater system and the resistor pack after a few years would lite on fire as there would be flammable debris in it and then the rest of it catches. Kind of like dryer lint, very easy to light on fire. Not saying that is what happened to you, but a possibility.

Sorry to hear about your truck, I hope insurance is good to you. I would hate to see any good vehicle burn up like that.

Why are you looking for an attorney? Fires happen, that's what insurance is for.

No discussion of attorneys or litigation on the open forum please. That's what the PM function is for.

However, over the past few years there have been a number of postal LLV's that have burned tot he ground in similar fashion. The determining factor was leaking windshields that allowed rain water to leak from t he run and run down into the fuse box.
