Fair enough. I will I just need to find a inexpensive and close one first. There’s a lot of these clusters on the east coast but these trucks are still in use over on the west coast.

I just bought one for $54.11 NOS in box. Never will use it I think as I love my trip odometer. Plus the needle is more orange than red like my repainted needles.

None the less this guy on Ebay has 4 more left after the one I bought.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/332611131080

I might put it in my truck though once I get the new motor for mine. Or I might try to trade it for a NOS timing cover for my truck instead.

I wouldn’t mind that just I like my trip too that’s why I was thinking about just swapping over the rollers

Interesting, if the rollers could be swapped I would so do that with mine. I love my trip it allows me to easily keep track of miles per fill up so I can quickly figure my mileage.

Yep mine works as well but I haven't used my truck in a few months now. Trying hard with my commission job to save up the money for a new motor for mine. Then I saw this post and was like hmmm.

If the rollers swap easily and everything functions right I can see myself setting the wheels at about 200,000 miles as I think that's what the truck has on it.

Lots of work. Engine runs on mine, balancer broke and spun on the crank. Didn't hurt the crank but the balancer bolt snapped off in the crank with an inch left in the crank. Not worth pulling the engine to replace just the crank for $150 then have the oil leaking valve guides un attended nor resealing the whole engine to stop oil and coolant leaks.

Better to just ****** it out and drop in a reman long block that comes with a 4 year unlimited mile warranty for $2,880 total.

My goes threw a 1 1/2 quarts every 1000 miles and about a gallon of water every week. But I dont have another vehicle to drive so it’s not getting another engine right now.

On 10w30 I had to add a quart every 75 miles cause the valve guides were knurled when the engine was rebuilt 20 years ago. I upped to 20w50 and was getting about 200 miles to a quart. Wasn't a big deal as I only drove about 100 miles in a week and a half. But with my move and most driving will be highway driving at 75 mph out in the country, I hate to not get a motor that is good.

I got the speedometer in today. Looks great. Fixing to go dig a old '82 speedometer out of my box I think I still have it, from a customers truck at work. Going to compare the wheels and see if its possible to swap them.

Yea the cluster with the trip has been in the truck for about two years now. It came with the tach cluster I bought all I did was test the gauges proved they functioned then I cleaned up painted the needles and swapped the bulbs for colored LED bulbs.

I wasn't able to find the old broken speedometer I kept for the wheels so I will have to see if I can dig out my old original cluster to pull the speedometer out of and compare the wheels to that.
