Hey Yeti, nice choice in fire extinguishers, you should see the rest of the interior.......haven't cleaned it since I owned it (bought new in 8/01) ..........and I wash the outside about once every three months
Looks like an Amerex 417T which is a 2.5 lb. ABC Multi purpose Dry Chemical that DCSpecial is running, the chrome is sure nice on those units. Good spot to mount it and easy to get to
and like he said no passengers sit there.

Damn, some guys will go to extremes to pinch pennys to purchase a EDGE lift !!
DC, that is one of guidelines for the "ride on the edge for lunch bunch" crowd, NO piggymobiles!!
Just thought you should know,

I've got a couple of shelves of stuff to clean the truck so I could keep it real clean all the time if I wanted to.
But, considering the fact that it takes me at least a few hours to wash and detail it........and only a few minutes to get it covered in mud or dust when I go up the piles behind our shop or through the field I don't see the point in washing it every weekend....or even every month for that matter. I suppose I could only drive it on the road......but what fun would that be.
I'm filthy a lot of times when I leave from work too or use my truck when I have to go buy parts and I often take the old parts with me so I don't really worry about the interior being spotless either.
Get an ABC and mount it beside the seat just inside the drivers door parallel to the rocker panel. If (Heaven forbid) you should have need it will be ready to hand as you step out of the vehicle. You would GET OUT of a truck that is on fire wouldn't you?

Okay, now I see the logic! Why wash something because it's only going to get dirty again. Why didnt I think of that!! You guys in Nothern Ill. have a lot of money though, what you have is a High $$ work truck! Now you could build a cruisen truck just for the road and use up the products on those shelves before they spoil!
BC will work but its not rated high enough for what types of fires are associated with vehicles. If you can pick up at least a 2A:10BC rated fire extinguisher or even better a 3A:40BC rated one you will be better off, which means by comparison either a 2.5 lb ABC dry chemical like the chrome one pictured above or better yet get a little bigger one like maybe a 5 lb ABC multipurpose dry chemical fire extinguisher. I like the larger one of the two, it is much more effective than the smaller one. IMO
