Convert to 4” Mytouch from regular radio?
I see that there are kits to go from the 4” to the 8” touchscreen with GPS but what about just going to the 4” Mytouch? I don’t have need for the GPS but wouldn’t mind the upgraded factory stereo.
I haven’t seen any kits for it nor any secondhand parts other than the dash center piece for that radio. Has anyone done this? I have Forscan as well for programming modules so that is taken care of.
Anyone?

Do you plan to add the tweeter pods in the a-pillars? The "upgraded" factory speakers are garbage; it would be a lot of work for no gain. It would be worlds more of an upgrade (and cheaper) to simply replace the factory head unit and speakers with some cheap aftermarket replacements. If you want to stick with factory components, have at it. I am just letting you know in case you were unaware.

You can keep your steering wheel controls with an aftermarket head unit. You can also get Google's voice recognition, which actually works.
Let us know what you figure out. It'll be interesting either way.

I am the same way. The problem with Sync is that it doesn't work well.

Also, I’m just curious about the aftermarket bezels and their fit and finish and how they match up to the factory one as far as texture etc....

Ok in doing a little research tonight, using a Maestro RR kit will let me retain all the factory functions I want to use. The Metra kit looks like it is one of the best fit/finish to keep factory looks.
Now with that being said, I noticed that iDatalink has the K150 kit. It is supposed to be for trucks that had the 4.3” screen that are changing to a different head unit. Has the climate controls built in etc. I really like the way that one looks and it has what I consider to be upgraded climate controls. They aren’t the dual zone controls so does anyone know if it will work in my truck plug and play? Or maybe with some tweaking with Forscan? Don’t want to buy it and it not work when I would have been simpler to buy the Metra kit.....
