If your coolant system is up to par its unneccessary.
I have 195k miles and never felt the need. If I need to test the clutch I can activate it with one of my scanners. My coolant temp is within decent temps and AC is always cold. So for me, no benefit.

Do not use upfitter switches for this unless using relay to covert to negative signal.

The upfitter switches are wired for 12v positive. So obviously this wouldn't work unless you used a relay to run it as a negative. The other part of this where one of the guys said this has no use unless the cooling system isn't in good health is wrong. If you have your egr deleted your fan no longer runs properly from the ecm. Now alot of guys do not notice thus bc they are likely still running their ac. The ac circuit will still call for the fan to run when the pressures fluctuate to need it. But if you have your egr deleted and you don't run your ac regularly then your computer will not call for the fan to come on at proper operation Temps. This is why ppl have looked into doing this mod for the most part in the first place. If you don't tow heavy and up grades you may not notice that it isn't calling for it properly and of course you also have to not be running the ac at the time either otherwise it will call for the fan to come on also.
