I have a 9 inch Ford without a tag so don't know what year. Pulled it apart for differential work. found 30 inch long 28 spline axle shafts but they have a 5.5 lug pattern. the seal race is scored so would like to replace the shafts but can't find any with that bolt pattern unless I get custom made from Currie. I found a list of 5.5 bolt patterns but then they are not 9 inch rear ends. Has anyone used the "cut to length" shafts?
A 5.5” pattern on equal length 30” long shafts for a 9” Ford sounds like a ‘57-‘72 1/2 ton truck axle. In lieu of replacing the shafts, you might look into Speedi-Sleeves. They are thin, precision ground stainless steel sleeves that go over the seal journal to restore the surface and allow reuse of the shaft with the original seal size. I’ve used them before with great success.

ALL 1957/79 F100; 1975/79 F150 have 5 lug wheels on a 5.50" bolt circle.
1957/67 F100 have 11" x 1 3/4" rear brakes; 1968/72 F100 have 11" x 2 1/4" rear brakes.
Notice in the pic below how Ford measures axle shafts.
B7TZ-4234-A (replaced B7C-4234-A) .. 28 Spline Axle Shaft - R/L is the same // A length: 29 11/16" = 1957/67 F100.
C8TZ-4234-A .. 28 Spline Axle Shaft - R/L is the same / A length: 29 15/16" = 1968/72 F100.
