chilton or haynes?
thanks for the reply
I used the Haynes for my journey, but I can tell ya, its 90% complete and applicable to the models listed, but having both would be nice... I found a handful of mistakes along the way in the book. If you could get your hands on a Ford electronic copy of the original service/repair manuals that would be awesome. Also cross checking the books with a lot of reading on these forums will help clear some of the confusion you can find going thru the book with different terms and orders of completion that can make you scratch your head...

where do you get that from?
I am mainly using this book so I can properly figure out what goes where under the hood..i.e--hoses, wires, etc
Trust me when I say that the Ford service manual from Forel is outstanding. Over 2,000 pages and loaded with useful information.

Well....i did the Forel manual and so far not only have I not been able to open it because my virus software says it has malware in it and is corrupt, but I haven't heard back from the Forel people either.
Which antivirus is installed on your machine? Also, where did you order the Forel manual? Did you order or download from their website or did you get a disc from a third party, such as Amazon? Have you tried running through the install from scratch? I would re-install and read every window to make sure there isn't a checked option installing extra bloatware on your machine.
In order of personal preference I would go.... Ford Factory Service Manual.... Mitchell's.... Chilton's.... Hayne's..... I find Hayne's to be the most "generic" among the group. Nothing beats the original Ford FSM when it comes to specificity and detail.
Forel
I downloaded it last night and it works great for me. Typically you have to tell your anit-virus its ok to continue the install when it prompts up a warning window.......
