New Project - Model

Well I took up modeling after 15+ years since I last built a model. Never did good but this one is coming out great as I am taking my time and focusing on the details. I'm building Fireball Roberts #22 '57 Ford as accurately as possible. Ive seen some state the exhaust was hacked and was re routed in front of the rear wheels. I saw photos from '57 showing the Black Widow Chevy`s done this way but never found a photo of #22 with exhaust like that. So I am using stock exhaust routing.

I also wired the kit supplied distributor with the proper Y-block firing order.

Thanks.

Been spending the last few days doing more body work as I messed up the white two tone I was airbrushing. I hope that I got it repaired enough that it wont be noticeable once I finish the paint apply the decals and apply the clear coat.

I have a second kit to build into Jerry Unser`s car, I am leaning towards doing a diorama but not sure. I could rob the body from that one but I hate to start from scratch and spend a good two hours removing all the seams in the body.

This is the diorama I would build if I do go the diorama route.

I also forgot to add these. These are photos of the seat and door panels after I installed the decals for the inserts. I did spray the seat with semi gloss clear was thinking of brushing some flat clear on the decal area to tone it down to a flat look for cloth but the semi gloss I sprayed toned the shine down quite a bit since I didn't put it on real wet. The decal looks like a satin sheen which I might live with. Didn't do the door panel yet though with clear. If they come out different I might redo the seat to get a match.

Thanks, I been away on the project but with E3 being today I had E3 playing all day on my computer and I got the decals placed today. Gotta let the Microset to cure a few days then I can go over with a damp towel to remove the spotting form the microset. Then I can mix up some 2K diamond clear clear coat and clear it. After that then its some Black Rubber to do all the window jambs to create the illusion of weather stripping.
