E40d Failed
I've got a 93' 5.8 with the E40d. So the tranny went out and I brought it to a shop and they put in a new one (they said they'd rebuild it but apparently that means mail it halfway across the country for an exchange to them). So all was good and well for a couple weeks, then I went on a ride that was probably 300-400 miles and while I was out there I started hearing a high pitch squeal going from 0-10 when accelerating. Parked it that night at home and the next day I went out and it would not shift into any gear at all and the tranny was making a grindy/squeal noise whenever i tried to shift. the transfer case front pinion yoke is also f****ed because of other problems. So basically the transfer case leaked dry and the tranny won't shift. This was all 6 months ago as I just got back from deployment and the shop with the warranty basically told me I have to figure out how to get it over there. Right now, both driveshafts are out to be able to roll but anyone got any clue what could be going on? shift linkage looks good, fluids good, solenoid was my next guess..
