Dealer is delivering, skeptical....

Hi everyone, I'm working with a dealer who is willing to drive the truck 4 hours to me and finalize paperwork for the purchase in person wherever we meet. He said he's give me a price for my trade in and drive it back if I decided to trade, otherwise hed have someone follow him down to drive back.

Seems too good to be true... Anyone have any advice or things to look out for?

My dealer was 2.5 hours away and delivered it. Was the easiest buying experience ever. The only thing was we did a lot of communication before hand and I was 100% certain it was exactly what I wanted. If there is any doubt I would go to them before pulling the trigger.

I have a toyota dealer about 45 minutes away I have bought about 7 vehicles from them, Some nice retired people drop it off, I give them a check and spend like 3 minutes signing paperwork and they are gone! Its totally awesome, going to the dealership always takes forever, the car is never ready or you have to wait for your salesmen or or paperwork guy, while they try to sell you service plans or warranties.... ah I am getting worked up thinking about the dog and pony shows I have had at the dealers before.

The big city dealers typically are the worst and the worst prices the dealers out of town will work to make a deal has been my experience

I wrote up five deals, 3 of them were willing to drive to me with the new truck, and return in the trade in truck and sign paper no problem, and they will call the insurance to take title and transfer over so the vehicle doesn’t spend more than 1minute uninsured.

This was exactly like my experience. They sent my new F-250 with a retired veteran. Good ol boy who was so easy going. Worked out all of the terms of the sale beforehand so signing the papers and doing the deal was a snap. He drove off my trade-in too. Last “big city” dealer I dealt with was a big-time douche. Such a stressful experience.

Definitely nowhere near the best but hopefully not the worst.... MSRP 73265, final price 63850 but that was with 1500 ford rebate and 3000 PCO thanks to you forum members. I was looking for a very specific vehicle and this was the only one I could find. It has all the options I want and nothing I don't. The closest match other than this one was out in Utah - I contacted them in hopes they'd offer a deal worth flying for but they only offered a couple thousand off MSRP. I contacted a total of 14 dealers and tried to negotiate their best offers on trucks that were a bit more expensive with options I didn't want to have and a couple thousand off MSRP was all they were offering, too.

Cool, I'm finding the same with not much discounting going on...

Enjoy the truck.

That might sound convenient but I wouldn't trust a dealer driver to drive the truck I'm going to purchase 4 hrs . I can guarantee you he won't give a sh** and not care about proper break in..

The truck will be there BEFORE the deal is done. If it's damaged, then he won't buy it. What's the problem with that?

I had a new 2012 Mustang GT driven up from KY to MI. It got here, I checked it out, all was well, completed the deal. No biggie.
