I own a 95 Limited. Recently i've noticed a loud clunking noise coming from my driver's side front wheel between 10 and 20 mph. The noise dissappears above 20 mph but turns into a bad shaking at 55 mph and above. Does anyone know what this could be, before I try to tackle this on my own.
Something like that should be very obvious if you jack up the front end and move the tire around or pull the wheel and look. It also sounds like it should be looked at ASAP.
Sounds like the ball joint. Jack up the front end and see if there's any play when you shake the wheel. If there're any plays, then it's the ball joint.
