Stroke, plain and simple.
Difference, a few more ponies due to higher compression. Not much, but it was something to hold us over till the introduced the new Duratec 2.3.
Torque and Hp vary by year, and even between transmission types as camshafts are sometimes different.
As for CI, a 2.3 is about 140 cid. a 2.5 is 200 cc more, or about 12.2 ci. Does that help?
(a 2000 cc engine is 122 ci. so 200 cc == 12.2 ci.)

Somewhat. There would be no way for you to now what my engines hp was without running a dyno to find true power to ground. Can you tell me what was the statement on the sticker? I bought this pickup used and have no book. That is also something I would like to find. Not a shop manual the owners manual.
Thanks
tomw, your saying then that the 2.5 is 152+/- ci?
