I have 35's on my '02 on 16x8 wheels with a leveling front spring and no problems.
So are you saying no?
My 285/75-16 ATs barely fit if you're concerned about rubbing. I just miss the springs at full lock and the tread just misses the fender liner when the tires are new.
I'm sure you can make them fit but you will not be able to turn the wheel very far without rubbing the springs, fender liner, or (depending on the wheel you use) the quarter panel.
I am saying the height is not an issue, but like you mentioned the wheel will make all the difference. That being said I would personally never run a 24 on anything.

I have a stock 03 F250 2wd and I am wanting to get rid of the crappy pizza cutters and get some bigger/meatier tires. I was looking at the https://www.discounttiredirect.com/b...er-at2/p/32872 which seem not too bad. They are 295/75/16. Would these cause any rubbing? Also in the near future I am going to add a level kit to the front as well.
That or a 305/70/16. It is a tad wider, but also close to stock size in height.
My 285/75/16s rub on stock wheels at full lock, a little less bad with x code springs but still rubbing.
Really?
I have old, worn out V codes on my Excursion with 285's on a stock wheel and they aren't anywhere close to rubbing. I can put a bigger tire on it if I wanted there's so much room.

Yup. Only on the passenger side at a full right turn. Not sure what other reason there would be for it.
I have slightly newer stock alloys, the nicer 5 hole ones. I could be wrong but the offsets don't seem different from the MY ~2000 alloys.

295's probably not but 305s might. It will depend on what wheel you use. Plenty of people stuff a 295 or 305 on a stock 7" wide wheel.
Personally I keep things within the recommendations, the same way I would not run a D-rated tire on my rig (like the Grabber you linked). I'm sure plenty of people have done it but my truck is 7800lbs empty and won't even consider a tire unless it's E-rated (and not all E-rated tires are the same either).
