I have aquired a 16" 8 lug, 8x6.5" bolt pattern steel wheel stamped ford and made by firestone?. Anyways it did not fit on the hub of my 95 ford van (tried for the giggles of it.... i allready have a spare for said van), center bore to small. Now im currious what did it fit? I measured the center bore and got 4.833" or 122.76mm
Your question hasn’t been ignored. I’ve pondered it several times and pulled every paper catalog I have, and online reference I know, to figure it out. I, like you, thought the 16” F-250/350 and E-250/350 wheels would have the same center bore across those years. Your wheel is probably an Accu-ride/Accuride #28308 (the number will be there somewhere). It could be a #28378 that replaced #28308. Both are shown to have a center bore of 4.88”. You might measure yours again to see if you can find that fraction of difference.
My paper catalogs through the mid 1990s, and on-line Accuride catalog of 2011 still cite the 4.88” figure for trucks of your era although the wheels got wider and numbers changed. I have no reference to cite the hub bore dimensions of the mid 1990s vans. So I’m at a loss to explain why that wheel won’t fit your van. Stu
