2015 wheels fit 2012?
I am looking at buying a set of takeoffs from a 2015 for my 2012.
the tire size is the same 275/65r18
the difference is in the wheel specs
old
8.5"x18 offset 35
center bore 86.5 mm
new
9"x18 offset 30
center bore 86.8 mm
all other wheel specs are the same.
I got the wheel specs from here:
Ford F-150 2012 - Wheel & Tire Sizes, PCD, Offset and Rims specs - Wheel-Size.com
so my question is will they fit?
I think the difference in offset and width is not an issue. yes / no?
is the 0.3mm difference in center bore ok?
Thanks

Just doing a quick calculation, the 5 mm less offset of the 2015 wheel roughly re-centers the wheel with the increased width. So that should work.
Is the wheel hub-centeric or lug-centric? If it is hub-centric then the increased bore diameter probably deserves a little more investigation.

Not sure if they are lug centric or hub centric.
they are ford oem wheels and in my experience they have the tapered lug nuts that should center the wheel.
also the difference of 0.3mm is so small I would think that it should be ok but just checking if anybody has any experience with these.
I have not seen them just checking before I put an offer in.

They are from a 2016 F-150, and I have a 2013 F-150. everything is the same (as far as I can tell) except the Center Bore for the hub. old is 86.5, new is 86.8. I just did the calc.. that .006" /side... thought I might machine some spacers, but I don't think I could do that.... maybe fold over a tin foil sheet....

Ford uses hub centric wheels. I don't think that small of a difference will matter, though (unless you are trying to put older wheels on a new truck).
That being said, if you mount them and have a vibration that isn't caused by tire balance, you will know why.
They do make hub centering adapters, but it would have to be a spacer five thousandths thick.... Good luck finding one that thin.
They may have increased the hub diameter to accommodate the thickness of the rust scale on the hub.
