i might be coming in to a flat inline 6, i beleive it is a 78. does any body know a value on this thing?

A lot of money! Just kidding, they didn't make flatheads in 78. Ford stopped making them in the 50's.
It's a 240 or a 300cid over head valve in line six cyl. I would think the 300 would bring more than the 240. But there is a forum specifically for six cyl's where you can probably find out more.
