tire size
whats is a good size tire for my truck? 93 4.9l 4x4 e4od 3.08 lwb. i believe it has stock tires on it now, they look small. i would like to go bigger of course but dont want to change the gears. just looking for a good all around size for my setup. i do some towing and hual fire wood and i also like to go about 90

I have 31x10.50x15 Bridgestones on mine. They look good and fit fine. I do notice if I turn to sharp, they will rub a bit though. I have the 3.08 with a 5 speed tranny. Not sure about the 90mph as the truck is getting a fair few miles on it and I don't want to push it.

i have a 95 f-150, 4x4 short bed, 4.9L , 5 Speed, 3.08 gears with 31x10.50 15 tires, stock tires were 235/75/15. speedometer changed by 4 mph. 131000 miles and i can still peg the speedometer all the way. only things i've done to the engine is changed the initial timing to 14 degrees btdc, and made a egr restrictor plate from a piece of 1/16" stainless steel plate and installed it. 31x10.50x15 tires are almost the same size as 265/75/15 which were available on some f-150's. 3.55 gears would be ideal for that size tire for towing in my opinion. but 3.08's can handle it as long as the load isn't to much.
