I recently purchased a 2018 Platinum and found that when I am driving at night the "PRNDM" on the center console and the "DM", "+" and "-" on the shifter handle are not illuminated also. Is this correct or do I have a problem?
My 18 Lariat gear selection lights up on the console. My build date is Aug 2017 and it seems the early builds do have the lighted console and at some point they stopped including it on the later builds. Mine also has the dash display ( when you select advance settings) showing auto lock and auto unlock which allows you to either select or unselect them. Later builds don't have the auto lock on the display only the auto unlock. Mine also has the same trailer tow mirrors the 17s have but at some point they switched to a different style tow mirror on the later builds.

Thanks!
The "PRNDM" on the center console in my 2016 Lariat does illuminate when my lights are on.
I`d say you might have a problem since another poster with a 2018 does not have the same issue and I hope you`re able to get it taken care of by your dealer.
I asked Ford and they said none of them light up on the console because its displayed on the dash.

Have a great day.
I believe it was mid-2017 when Ford began eliminating the lighted PRNDM from the center console area.
As stated by triniexr, the gear indicator is in the dash....similar to how a column shifter shows it. Some 2017’s have theirs illuminated and some don’t. I don’t believe any of the 2018’s are expected to be illuminated there.
I am thinking aout getting a little stick on LED and put it in the console, the thing is deep and dark!
Wait...we've established that they removed the light for the PRNDM indicator on the console. You mean they removed the light INSIDE the center console as well? My '17 Lariat has both! Please tell me you still have a glove box light.

It’s off-topic, but if you have the light in the cavern under the armrest....you can replace the factory led unit with a much brighter led light. I did, it was easy, and it works great!
